Free AI Overview
Checker

Type a search and your site. See if Google's AI Overview cites you, where you rank in the top 10, and whether Claude names you when asked the same thing.

The basics

What an AI Overview is

An AI Overview is the answer Google writes at the top of some search results. It sums up a few pages and links to them as its sources. Google shows one for some searches and not for others, and its sources can change from one day to the next.

The sources are not always the top results. A page further down can be cited, and a page in the top 3 can be left out, so your position alone doesn't tell you whether people see your site in the answer.

Some people ask an assistant like Claude instead of searching Google. Claude answers from its own web search and names the sites it found. This AI visibility checker looks at both: Google's AI Overview and Claude's answer to the same search.

Reading the result

What the result means

If Google's AI Overview cites your site, a link to one of your pages is part of the answer.
If Google shows an AI Overview without your site, look at the pages it cites: what they cover and how they answer the search.
If Google shows no AI Overview, the search has regular results only, and your place in the top 10 is what counts.
If Claude names or cites your site, it found you in its web search or already knew you. If not, the pages it cites are the ones it found for this search.
One check is one moment. Google and Claude can answer differently an hour later.
3 steps

How to use the AI Overview checker

01

Type the search

Use the words your customers type into Google, like "best invoice app for freelancers". One search per check.

02

Add your site

Type your domain, like yoursite.com. Any page on that domain counts as yours, and so does your brand name in the answer.

03

Read both answers

You see Google's AI Overview with the sites it cites, your place in the top 10, and Claude's answer with the pages it cites. Google is checked as a searcher in the United States.

Every day

Track AI Overviews for every page you publish

This page checks one search at a time. If you want an AI Overview tracker for all your keywords, connect your AI agent to Rillow. Rillow checks Google every day for each page your agent publishes, and records its position and whether the AI Overview cites it. Your agent sees that history, and can look up the live results with the AI Overview and its sources for any keyword while it plans and writes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Google decides for each search whether to show one. Searches for a brand or a site's name rarely get one, and some searches get one on some days and not on others. If there was none when we checked, the search has regular results only, and your place in the top 10 is what counts.

Google changes its results by location, language, device and your search history, and the AI Overview can change between two searches a few minutes apart. This tool searches Google as a signed-out visitor in the United States, in English, on a computer.

We send your search to Claude as a question, with Anthropic's web search on and set to the United States. Claude runs one web search and writes a short answer that cites the pages it used. It isn't told which site you typed. If the web search can't run, the answer comes from what Claude learned in training, and the result says so.

A source counts as yours when its address is on your domain or a subdomain of it. The answer names you when its text has your domain or your brand, the name in your domain before .com or another ending. A brand shorter than three letters is matched by the full domain only.

AI Overviews and their sources change often, so one check shows one moment. Checking the searches that matter most to you once a week shows you the trend. You can run 5 new checks a day here, and a search someone checked in the last 24 hours shows that result again for free.
